Come Join Us for a Weekend of Paper Making
Using common plant material found in our local environment, along with Asian and other papermaking fibers, each participant will produce a portfolio of beautiful, high-quality papers infused with a distinct sense of place. Basic sheet forming with an eye towards producing high-quality papers will lead to a personal exploration of surface and texture. Each participant will develop a beautiful portfolio of papers that will carry a variety of distinctive material qualities. Following this immersion into the fine craft of hand papermaking, participants will be introduced to the cyanotype photography process, and have the opportunity to further develop their papers using this photographic process along with natural material collected on site. Each person will be encouraged to find ways of using these processes to address their individual aesthetic concerns.
The participation fee will be $280. Lunch is included and we will enjoy an evening meal together on Saturday. Register at paypal.me/ahfs2017 – leave us a note to let us know that you’re registering for the Paper Making and Cyanotype event with Mary Hark.
