Hand Camp 2020: Canceled

Well, after many weeks of thinking and strategizing and being hopeful we in fact have made the difficult decision to cancel Hand Camp for 2020.
While we are sad and disappointed we will not be holding our 5th annual Hand Camp, we know it’s the right thing to do. Our heart told us one thing and our head another. For everyone’s safety and frankly for our sanity we made the call.

But! Know this, we will not be idle. We are already hard at work building what we call “organizational capacity” for the Avon Hills Folk School. In the weeks to come we’ll share more on what that means and looks like and how it may affect future events and classes.

In the meantime please keep the good vibes flowing and watch for some opportunities to visit the Folk School this fall. We hope to find a way to have a socially distanced Bouja party (always the 2nd Saturday in October) and an opportunity for folks to walk the trails in the woods and along and over Spunk Creek. We even hope to be able to have artists here selling their creations. We’ll see how it goes – but that is our hope.

We will miss all of you that we’ve come to know and love. And we’ll miss those of you that we would have met this fall – new to Hand Camp and the Avon Hills Folk School.

Drop a line if you’d like to try and make a trip up on an off-day. We’d love for you to simply enjoy the hills, woods, and water.

Stay safe!
