Embodied Resilience

Supporting Self and Others

An Embodiment Workshop with Jeffrey

In today’s demanding world, taking control of your stress and connecting with a supportive community is key to being resilient. Otherwise we can get overwhelmed to the point of burn out.

In this workshop we will playfully explore life skills central to Resilience through several unique mindbody and movement-based techniques.

What you will learn:

You’ll learn how to tap into the wisdom of your body to better care for yourself, work with others and navigate the challenges of daily life.

Expect a mix of practical, hands-on activities designed to help you experience a deeper sense of rest and assertiveness,

We will work on essential skills around

  • self-care and rest (needed for avoiding burnout)

  • setting boundaries (critical for safeguarding your time and energy)

  • cultivating gratitude (helpful for appreciating what we have)

  • and asking for, receiving and giving support in the context of community (we can't do it alone)

all of which are vital to building long-term resilience.

The Workshop Format

The workshop is 3 hours long. There will be a couple breaks and time to reflect and journal.

We will practice together in a fun, curious and non-judgemental environment. Honestly, it's play!

This course takes place at Art in Motion in Holdingford

What is Embodiment?

Instead of body exercises to build physical strength or to stretch muscles, Embodiment works with the body to build life skills and gain psychological benefits like stress-reductions and increased confidence.

Hello!

You might be curious why I am interested in doing this workshop.

I learned the lesson when I was younger that I had to do things by myself. I had an image that to be human was to be an island.

I don't think that's the case anymore. We are not an island. We're connected and we have to be connected.

If we feel we're disconnected from others, then we're not really resilient. Being alone, we're actually less resilient, less capable of weathering the challenges of life.

So we need to be surrounded by a supportive community. So how do we do that?

One piece is becoming aware of what we need as individuals to care for ourselves, and take action on that.

The second piece is learning how to ask for and receive support. And to give support too.

That's the exploration for this workshop. How can we work together so life gets better with time?

My goal is to make this really fun and playful. I want everyone to walk away with something practical that they can take into their lives.

I hope you will attend. :)

Warmly,

Jeffrey

Your Instructor, Jeffrey Schwinghammer

Jeffrey is an Embodiment coach and facilitator. He helps people move through challenges and find internal clarity through mind-body techniques. He is passionate about sharing this work because of the strides he sees clients make and, frankly, because of how much he needed this work.

For more than 15 years, Jeffrey worked on music videos, feature films, and commercials for companies like 3M and Adobe.

But 7 years ago, his career hit a screeching halt because he couldn't manage the stress from pressure at work. He had terrible body aches and pains and suffered physically and mentally so much that he even lost his love for storytelling.

To find relief, Jeffrey trained in powerful mind-body techniques that have helped his body and mind feel way better. Now, he is making the biggest film of his career and enjoying it.

That's why he wants to help other people reconnect with their bodies so their bodies work with them and not against them.

He is the host of the Expand Your Ability podcast.
