This class will involve working with wood and designing a mallet depending on what the mallet will be used for.

Students will learn how to incorporate the use of power tools and hand tools, the proper use of each of the tools, why they are used, and how to determine when to use the tools.

This course will help students build confidence in understanding how to use tools and how to design their own tool.  The mallet can be used in combination with other hand tools such as chisels, wood carving tools, putting in wooden dowels, etc.. 

The tools used in this course might include, table saw, band saw, drill press, hand drills, rasps, draw knife, block planes, clamps, spokeshave, sanding blocks.
