Whether you are a beginner, an experienced home baker or simply a bread lover, this one day course aims to take the fear out of artisan bread making.
We will be making 100% fresh ground Whole Wheat Bread (we will grind the wheat berries for the freshest flour), a French Style Country bread, Cranberry-Walnut loaf , Jalepeno- Cheddar batard, Ciabatta and Focaccia Bread and Baguettes
This is a packed 8 hour workshop of fun!
Lunch and dessert is included.
We will be working inside and outside so please dress for the weather, layers work best. The workshop will go on in rain or shine, so please plan accordingly.
All baked breads created in class will be taken home by each student.
Bio:
Susan Kroska has lived in the Avon Hills area for over 35 years and loves calling it home.
She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, playing the violin, and a wide variety of cooking and baking.
Her interest in artisan bread baking, both in a conventional oven and/or a wood fired oven , began about 35 years ago .
She has taken artisan bread classes from Mary G's in Canada, Stone Turtle Baking School in Maine, Zingerman's Bakery in Michigan, and the San Franciso Baking institute in California. In addition, she studied and worked under retired local artisan bread baker Steve Nelson at Collegeville Artisan Bakery. She enjoys the challenge and skill associated with artisan bread baking, and is delighted at the opportunity to teach at Avon Hills Folk School.
