Hours: Day 1: 4-8pm Days 2-3: 9am-5pm
During this course, you'll learn the layout and cutting of the mortise and tenon joints needed to create a timbered sawhorse. This class will introduce the basic techniques used in traditional timber framing and provide the basis for most timber frame projects going forward.
Students will create a pair of sawhorses made of 6”x 6" timbers that are 3 or 4 feet wide working with professional-grade timber framing tools, as well as learn to use a variety of traditional hand tools.
Each student will leave with their own set of sawhorses to use for future timber framing projects, as base for a table, workbench or other. The basic 6"x6" design of these timbered sawhorses are more than strong enough for almost any use.
