Knit a Beanie - 4 hours over two days (one week apart)

Join Kate and Laila to knit in the round and make a basic knit hat!

Prior to class - students should be comfortable knitting, purling, and casting on. In class we will go over knitting in the round and decreasing stitches.

Students will be asked to provide their own materials:

  • Worsted weight (medium) yarn, approximately 200 yards. We recommend wool or superwash wool for this project

  • This could be split into two different colors as a design preference

  • US size 6 needles, 16” circular

  • Plus a set of size 6 Double Pointed Needles or a 32” size 6 circular needle for magic loop

  • Scissors or snips

  • Tapestry needle

This course is for adults 18+.

KATE RUNNING AND LAILA SIMON

(she/her)

Kate Running and Laila Simon are knitters with a love of whimsy. That's why they started Knit & Gather to teach others the craft they love. They have both been knitting for over twenty years and love to experiment with different mediums. Coming from Norwegian cultural backgrounds, it is folk art and craft that connects them with their heritage! Together they design patterns and have partnered to teach fiber arts. Their goal is to share knowledge, connect with others, and offer high quality patterns, tools, and more. Follow along and take a class with them!
